recoveries of over $2.4 million on over 300 contract compliance audits performed.

- Lead research, development and
implementation of content technology for ProcureNet,
a $100 Million (and profitable)
B2B e-commerce company.
- Chief architect for two of ProcureNet’s key technologies,
Common Language Generator, an Artificial Intelligence-based cataloging tool, and
the web-based catalog search engine, code named Scottsdale which enabled parameter-driven
web-based search of
over 250,000 cataloged parts sold to the DOD.
- Accountable
for planning, communicating and implementing the Content Technology strategy and
vision.
- Industry expert in the domain of Content Technology and parametric catalog
searching.
Requested public speaker for various industry groups and standards organizations
such as API’s CIMIS.
- Managed three development projects overseeing IBM Global
Services totaling
over $1MM and a team of 17 developers to integration of ProcureNet’s
Common Language Generator with IBM’s Net.Commerce solution. Applied best practices
in project management and software development to estimate, schedule, execute and
monitor projects. Completed all projects within budget, time and specifications.
- Personally developed and brought to market, in 3 months, a web-based industrial
catalog search engine that IBM Global Services estimated would have taken their
team one year and $2.5MM to deliver, saving the company $2MM and 9 months of time
to market. That product is
still in commercial use today
Shell Oil Company 1978 - 1997
Project Manager
- Managed Shell’s material cataloging project to standardize 270,000 corporate material item descriptions at 11 separate facilities, based on emerging industry standards, and using the very latest in artificial intelligence cataloging software, and desktop computing.
- Led a team of 15 programmers and business professionals to migrate legacy mainframe procurement and contract systems to an enterprise-wide client server
environment used by 250 SCM users world-wide.
- Led a team of 25 programmers and an annual budget over $1MM, responsible for developing and implementing changes to Payroll and Benefits systems affecting 142 sub-systems.
International Procurement Lead
- International procurement and contract administration for exploration and drilling services for Shell’s Brazilian subsidiary located in Rio de Janeiro. Negotiated several million-dollar local procurement contracts in Portuguese
- Procurement contract compliance. Liaison to Petrobras, the Brazilian national oil company, to manage compliance of procurement contracts with the risk contract.
Administrative Manager
- Administrative manager for Shell’s exploration office in Asunción, Paraguay. Supervised Purchasing, Accounting, HR and Administrative Services, and local office staff in a Spanish-speaking office.
Accounting
- General and cost accounting for oil refining and chemical plant. Developed several software applications that automated accounting and inventory analysis, resulting in reducing staff work by 1 FTE in our department.
Entrepreneurial Experience
- Co-founded a profitable start-up, Hummingbird Software Corporation, in 1992
- Developed Free→FORM, an artificial intelligence software product used to standardize material catalogs.
- Handled all technical aspects of sales calls. Sold Free→FORM to major corporations such as Texaco, Conoco, Shell, and McJunkin.
- Performed technical and business process consulting to many companies in their evaluation and planning of electronic catalog and electronic commerce systems. Some of clients include Texaco, McJunkin Corporation, Van Leuwen Pipe & Valve, Westbrook Manufacturing, Government Services Canada, Electronic Data Systems - Defense Enterprise Integration Services (for the National Institutes of Health), and EDS-Maintenance Systems Integration.
- Sold all intellectual property rights of Free→FORM to ProcureNet in 1997.

- Current hands-on experience in over 20 programming languages and methodologies, such as .Net, ASP, C#, VB, ADO, Data Analysis, Systems Analysis and Design, Mainframe, PC, and client-server development, MS SQL Server 2005, Microsoft Office development using VBA, Prolog, Rexx, Xedit, Windows Server Operating Systems since NT 3.5, and VM/CMS.
