Founder and President of a boutique software consulting firm, with a world-class
client base, including Reliant Energy, Degussa, Spectra Energy, and Duke Energy.
Our company of 7 senior consultants leads software development projects involving
accounting and financial applications,
with a speciality in corporate tax, e-commerce and data warehousing/business intelligence applications.
Interliant, Inc. - 1998 to 2002
Senior Manager, software development responsible for managing product and commercial software development projects at Interliant,
such as our co-development of Lotus' Domino Instant! Host, and a similar product
(code-named Nutley) that was intended for the Microsoft Exchange platform. The latter
was spurred by a $10 million investment from Microsoft. Worked closely with
Microsoft product managers in Redmond during the early definition and design stages.
Other development projects included managed messaging environments,
system monitoring,
and customer reporting portals. Helped launch AppsOnline.com, an innovative "rentable
applications" service.
Director, Software Development
responsibile for all software development projects at the Houston office,
including internal projects as well as product development. Contributed significantly
to developing and maturing the software development team (25 developers in total)
and their software development processes. Led several Java, XML, and SQL-based development
projects, creating pricing, billing, credit card processing, and automated invoicing
web-based invoice presentment applications. These applications were distinguished
in their simplicity of design, rapid development times, and low maintenance requirements compared to Interliant's legacy applications.
Director, Information Systems strategy, business process improvement, and management of enterprise-wide systems. Guided the successful
implementation of Oracle Financials, Onyx CRM, and
a custom-developed enterprise application integration framework, as well as worked
closely with the Accounting and Finance departments to improve their processes and
analysis capabilities.
Lotus Consulting 1997 - 1998
Contract Project Lead for several large enterprise and international projects. Clients including Ernst & Young, Sampoerna, Bank Bali (the latter two in Indonesia), CANTV and PDVSA (Venezuela). Specialized in architecting large-scale Notes networks in corporate environments, while mentoring a young software development staff.
Texas Source Group, Inc. 1995 - 1997
Senior Consultant and Manager in charge of a staff of 5, overseeing internal and clients' systems administration and software development needs. Managed a multi-server Notes environment, Microsoft NT, Ethernet, and Wide Area Network.
Project lead, designer, and major developer (in C++ and SQL) of distributed web crawler application, code-named NationBase. Increased it's search quality from 33% to 99% of web documents found and processed, and speeded up overall processing by 90%. Also, continued in a consulting role for clients' Notes architecture and application needs.
Agoric Enterprises, Inc. 1991 - 1995
senior consultant/co-founder involved in all aspects of contract negotiation, customer liaison, requirements analysis, and development tasks of this small, independent consulting firm. Negotiated with Sun Labs to gain a contract to develop electronic markets for computational resources,
which led to my co-founding of Agorics, Inc. (www.agorics.com).
Futron Corporation 1991 - 1993
Project Manager Performed project management successfully in a harsh environment (under contract to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms, 1992-1993); successful at translating between non-technical users and technical staff regarding user requirements, changes, technical risks, etc. Managed a staff of 10 programmers and technical writers.
Furthermore, performed as a "matrixed" team member on other projects, including research for NASA's Office of Commercial Programs.
George Mason University - Department of Economics 1991

Taught junior and senior level courses in economics; researched and developed a computational system for the simulation and exploration of emergent economic processes, aimed at explaining the emergence of barter, money, and the phenomenon of prices.
